The Institute for Asian American Studies at UMass Boston, established in 1993, conducts community-based research on Asian American issues; provides data and education about Asian Americans to policymakers, service providers, educators and students, foundations, the media and community groups; and contributes to the success of Asian American students and the enrichment of Asian American studies on campus.
Starting in 2023 we worked together on creating a brand that fits the culture and work of the institute, without narrowing the focus visually. The color palette also took into account the UMB color palette and interspersed the UMB blue wave graphic, as the institute is housed at the UMB campus. In addition, the branding had to be flexible enough to work in various mediums i.e. website banner, report covers, newsletter masthead etc.
