On October 4th, 2019, (PEAS) In Pursuit of Equity, Accountability, and Success: Latinx Students in Massachusetts Schools had their first conference in Worcester, MA. More than 400 participants from across the Commonwealth, including over twenty college presidents, several urban superintendents, Massachusetts Commissioners of Education, national and regional experts, and community leaders came together to launch a multi-year initiative seeking equity, accountability and racial justice for Latinx students in Massachusetts from early childhood through college and beyond.
Towards this endeavor, we started to lay the groundwork in early June, beginning with a logo and branding. We then moved on to developing additional print and digital materials such as Letterhead, Save the Date, Poster, Invitation, Banners for social media, and E-blasts sent out using Constant Contact. In addition, for the event day, we created a Slideshow, Program book and Resource book.
The conference was a resounding success, and the team is working towards making this a biennial event.
