The Collaborative is an Latinx Equity Knowledge Hub that assists in the development of equitable solutions to major equity and health challenges by creating platforms to manage data, analysis, and evidence in order to monitor, measure, and explain equity gaps. The Collaborative draws from faculty, experts, staff and students from across Massachusetts public institutions of higher education, independent policy centers, community health centers and community organizations, community-focused investigators connected to underserved communities.
We worked together to define our goals for the website and built the site architecture keeping our role as a Hub and go-to site for disseminating information that is helpful to the latinx community. Our goal was to keep the data live and current, and to that end for e.g. we have a live section on the home page to current vaccination rates among the Latinx community in MA. In addition we have a page for research projects which continually adds and lists the programs that are helping in the mission of the Hub.
The Hub hosts events and brings together panelists to speak to current issues that need to be spotlighted and addressed. To share this knowledge with the community we created a dedicated Events page where these events are announced and then documented as a resource for viewers.
The Resource page serves as a hub for information that serves the needs of the Latinx community, be it health, financial, mental health support, or small business focused, all serving the broad mission—to lead towards a thriving Latinx community.
